Message from Principal Hall-Swope

Parents-

With Thanksgiving break happening next week, I want to share just how thankful I am for each of you trusting Brays Oaks to educate your students. We do not take the job lightly and are committed to giving every student the best education possible. Unfortunately, it has been a tough few weeks with recent vandalism in our restrooms, especially our boys restrooms. Students are ripping soap dispensers from walls, clogging toilets, and writing vulgar messages on the wall. As a result, we are often having to close restrooms and our custodial staff is working overtime to clean up the mess created by students. Please help us by reminding your students of the following:

  1. This is everyone's school. We need to treat our building with respect.
  2. If you see something, say something to an adult. We want to keep everyone safe and keep our building fully operational.
  3. If you are caught vandalizing restrooms, there will be consequences including suspension. We want kids in classes every day, not in suspension because of a bad choice to destroy our restrooms.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep Brays Oaks a safe place for learning and growing for all students!

-Principal Hall-Swope

UPCOMING STUDENT HOLIDAYS

Thanksgiving Break: Monday, Nov. 21-Friday, Nov. 25

Early Dismissal: Friday, Dec. 2 (12:48)

Winter Break: Friday, Dec. 16, 2022 - Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.   Classes will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023

DAILY ATTENDANCE:

Daily attendance is critical for student learning and socialization. Research shows that students who are chronically absent- missing 10% or more of school days due to absence for any reason (excused, unexcused, suspensions) - can lead to difficulty learning to read by the 3rd grade, achieving academically in middle school, and graduating from high school. We know that you care deeply about your child’s academic and social well-being and the best place for them to learn and grow is at school. Every day your child is absent, they fall behind in their classes and it requires work to catch up. They also miss out on all the opportunities to enjoy school with their peers and their teachers.

If you or your child are struggling with being at school, we can help. Click here to learn how.
